Waterslide Fun

These two girls are two peas in a pod. They love each other so much. They're more like sisters than cousins. They were having fun going down the slide together.

We had another birthday to go to for our friend Skye. We had a blast at this party too.

I LOVE PONIES....

We went to our friend Elias' birthday party and rode ponies. Megan was so excited she got off and said momma I don't want a dog anymore, I want a horse. Oh No. I don't the Home Owners Association would be pleased nor the neighbors. We did have an amazing time today.

My girl looks pretty good in boots doesn't she?

Summer

Some pictures from the summer so far.....

Tanya and Megan after church... Tanya's Facebook photo as well.
Megan doing it big at the VBS celebration... She couldn't go to VBS all week due to having her tonsils removed, but we made it to the party Friday.
Hanging out in the front yard after chasing rabbits. (Chasing rabbits is one of Megan's favorite activities, proving yet again that we made a good choice in moving back to MS. Megan's other redneck activities include, but aren't limited to: eating crawfish and crabs, playing "nudie" in the back yard, going potty in the back yard (approved by mom, NOT DAD), riding on the tractor with Pawpaw, feeding horses, riding with the top down and hands in the summer air, picking berries, and going shoeless when possible.)
Ava playing in the water at a recent small group get-together as we watched USM hand one to the Longhorns. Hook em' Horns? I really don't care. Would be nice to see SEC win it all. Go Tigers.
Megan and Skye at the aforementioned get-together.

Lyrics

Love this new song. These lyrics kind of hit me... Helps me to not take things for granted....

Lyrics to "Funny The Way It Is" from DMB's latest cd.

Lying in the park on a beautiful day
The sunshine in the grass
And my children play
Sirens passing fire engine red
Someone's house is burning down
On a day like this

The evening comes and we're hanging out
On a front step and a car goes by
With the windows rolled down
And that war song is playing
Why can't we be friends
Someone is screaming and crying
In the apartment upstairs

Funny the way it is
Make you think about it
Somebodies going hungry
And someone else is eating out
Funny the way it is
Not right or wrong
Somebodies heart is broken
And it becomes your favorite song

The way your mouth feels in your lover's kiss
Like a pretty bird on the breeze
Or water to a fish
The bomb blast brings the building crashing to the floor
Hear the laughter
While the children play war

Funny the way it is
Make you think about it
One kid walks ten miles to school
Anothers dropping out
Funny the way it is
Not right or wrong
A soldiers last breath
His babies being born

Standing on a bridge
Watch the water passing underneath
It must have been much harder
When there was no bridge just water
Now the world is small
Compared to how it use to be
With mountains and oceans
And winters and rivers and stars

Funny the way it is
Make you think about it
One kid walks ten miles to school
Anothers dropping out
Funny the way it is
Not right or wrong
A soldiers last breath
His babies being born

Funny the way it is
Not right or wrong
Somebodies broken heart
And it becomes your favorite song
Funny the way it is
Make you think about it
One kid walks ten miles to school
Anothers dropping out

Standing on a bridge
Watch the water passing underneath
It must have been much harder
When there was no bridge just water
Now the world is small
Compared to how it use to be
With mountains and oceans
And winters and rivers and stars

1/2 Marathon

We completed our 1/2 marathon this past weekend. Mary Evelyn finished in 2 hours 5 mins. I sped across the line with a lightning quick time of 2 hours 4 mins. (Actually, it seems kinda weak knowing that Mary Evelyn is pregnant and ran the same time.) We had a blast running. We were able to stay together through the first 11 miles and keep each other going. I'm not looking forward to training again, but I'm ready to run another one.
This is Mary Evelyn, Kathy, and myself at 5:00 am, before the race.

Our idea of what the end might bring....

Mary E.'s Ipod wouldn't work. We found our cheering section and tossed it about a mile in. As I was prepping the photo, I noticed this guy. He must be going to work!??

New York, NY

Thanks to Tanya's wonderful family, she was able to celebrate her twentieth (plus 10) birthday in New York with her mom, sister, granny, and other family friends. They stayed at the Crown Plaza while they were there. They saw shows, monuments, buildings, the works. Tanya said she had the total NY experience.
Here they are on a dinner cruise.

Some tired puppies.....

Happy Birthday Babe....
